Housing, stipend, travel

As part of this REU, your housing accomodations are provided and campus meal plans are available. Specifically, you will live in dormatory style housing in historic downtown Charleston on the College of Charleston campus. Please see the main college website for general information ( Travel will be provided to the Hollings Marine Laboratory for all participants for lab work. The same is true for visits to the Medical University of South Carolina. The main project space for this research experience is located within walking distance at the newly renovated Harbor Walk building ( We are in the process of arranging water taxis to take the students to and from the Hollings Marine Laboratory.

Stipends will be set at the standard NSF rate (approximately $5,500 for the summer), housing will be provided, and meal plans will be available.

Limited travel support is available for students attending from outside the southeast region of the country.
